This area is one of the finest parts of the Northern Netherlands with brilliant nature reserves, lively villages and various sights. You will find here endless possibilities for cycling and walking tours (most marked with signposts).
In addition to the beautiful scenery, Midden-Drenthe has many places of interest such as e.g. village Orvelte and the dolmens (hunebedden). A visit to the famous zoo “Noorder Dierenpark” in Emmen, the Drents Museum in Assen or a shopping/city trip is also worth the effort.
